Frequently Asked Questions
We Receive From Perspective Chiropractic Patients
Should I be
concerned about the x-rays you take?
Absolutely
not. The developers of the NUCCA procedure have taken many steps to enable NUCCA doctors to take the best films
with the least possible x-ray exposure. In addition to this, we use digital high frequency x-ray technology in
our office, further reducing the dose. The established guidelines for personal x-ray exposure are no more than
5000 mrem in a year. A typical CT scan is 800-1000 mrem. A mammogram is 70 mrem. A complete NUCCA x-ray series
is less than 10 mrem. Even the most difficult case would rarely receive more than 30 mrem in an entire
year.
Do
you take insurance?
Benefits vary from plan to plan.
We recommend you bring your insurance card with you to your first visit. We will verify your benefits with your
carrier and find out if your plan covers care in our office.
Do
you take Medicare?
The Medicare
fee schedule allows Medicare patients to receive care at about a 20% discount from our usual
fees. We will bill Medicare for the charges you pay for in our
office. Medicare will only reimburse for
adjustments.
How long does it take to notice results?
Most of our patients report
noticeable changes within a day following their first correction.
Other cases take more time of staying in alignment to experience change. The most important factor in experiencing life-long change it to restore and
maintain a balanced body. Once the correction has stabilized (which
usually happens in about 6 weeks), we recommend a wellness maintenance schedule that works for you (usually
quarterly).
How
does adjusting my neck help lower back pain?
Lower back
pain has many causes. Often degeneration, muscle spasms, disc bulges, and other common low back problems are
related to the stress of body imbalance. These often quickly resolve following the NUCCA spinal correction. At
Wellspring Centre for Body Balance we also must do our due diligence to rule out any complicating
factors.
I
don't live in Southern Oregon, but I've heard about you and would like to come see you. What can you do for
me?
If this is
your situation, please call. We'll be happy to discuss it with you
I
used to drive 4 hours to see a NUCCA practitioner, and you're closer. What can you do for
me?
This
situation varies on a person-by-person basis. If this is your situation, we will discuss your case with your
current NUCCA practitioner and gather important information to help us proceed. Call our office and we can
arrange this for you.
How
do you protect my personal information?
Our online
intake forms use high-grade 256 bit SSL
encryptionfor
secure (https) connections, the same level of security used by banks and other financial institutions. Your
form results are encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard
(AES)algorithm, the encryption standard adopted by the United States government. Digital data in our office is
stored on a firewalled, password protected computer under lock and key. Paper-based data is contained in a
locked file.
